Andorra is a small landlocked
country in Europe, situated in
the eastern Pyrenees
mountains and shares borders
with Spain and France. Today
it is a prosperous country
mainly because of tourism and
its status as a tax haven.
There are several major ski
resorts among which
Soldeu/El Tarter and
Pal/Arinsal. These are very
popular with tourists and
visitors from Spain, France
and the UK, as they have
relatively gentle slopes that
are ideal for less experienced
snowboarders and skiers.
Andorran ski schools are the
largest in Europe, and English-
speaking instructors are
readily available. As it is not a
member of the European
Union, Andorra is able to sell a
wide range of duty free
products, such as alcohol,
perfume and cigarettes. These
are much cheaper than in
neighboring countries, and are
a lucrative source of revenue
for the country. There are a
number of hiking trails which
can be explored during the
summer months, when there
is no snow. Although Andorra
is not famous for its wining
and dining, there are a lot of
good quality establishments to
eat out, especially in the
capital of the country, Andorra
La Vella. As it is one of the
renowned places of interest
there are lots of hotels to stay
in and this site can provide
you with information about
best prices for hotels and to
compare their prices. |
