The United States has many of
the world's major tourist
attractions; among the
most popular are the Disney
complexes in California and
Florida, the Grand Canyon,
Las Vegas, San Francisco,
New York City, Washington
D.C., Hawaiian Islands, Alaska,
California, Colorado ski
resorts, Florida, NASA, New
England states, Texas Gulf
Coast, the Mississippi River
system, New Orleans,
Yellowstone, the National Park
System, and so much more.
The US has a large and
profitable tourism industry
that serves millions of
international
and domestic tourists. Tourism
in this country is usually
promoted at the state
and local level, though the
federal government also tries
to promote tourism
itself, and publishes visa entry
requirements. As a rule
tourists come to see
the U.S. to admire natural
wonders, cities, historic
centers and landmarks, and
gambling venues. |
